Spotify’s RADAR returns with an exciting line-up of its 2024 slate of artists, featuring artists across different genres. RADAR, a global music program for emerging artists, reflects the kaleidoscope of fresh sounds. This year’s lineup spans various genres, including the next generation of Pinoy Hip-Hop stars Hev Abi and Illest Morena and OPM hitmakers Maki, Cup of Joe, Dionela. Also joining are Pinoy R&B sound makers Jason Dhakal and Denise Julia, indie sibling duo Ysanygo, and Bicol’s pride dwta. Completing the list is RADAR returnee P-Pop girl group BINI.
Now in its fifth year, RADAR is home to what’s next in music, propelling musical up-and-comers to the next stage of their careers. With this year’s slate boasting unique sounds and diverse backgrounds, these artists are poised to reach more audiences and make waves on the global stage.
“Spotify aims to capture the ways that music and culture are constantly evolving. Through RADAR, we are thrilled to spotlight the breadth of incredible rising talents in the Philippines that span different genres. There is so much to discover and something for every listener. We’ve doubled down in our long-term commitment to artist development and empowered music from Asia to travel the world,” said Kossy Ng, Spotify’s Head of Music, Southeast Asia.
Spotify’s playlist ecosystem and bespoke initiatives have helped artists reach new listeners while deepening connections with existing fans all around the world. Since its launch in 2020, the RADAR Philippines has experienced an impressive stream increase of more than 2.5 times.
In the past year, the RADAR Philippines playlist has seen streams from the U.S.A., Canada, the U.A.E., and Singapore, driving the discovery of featured artists to listeners across the globe. Last year’s RADAR artist, R&B sensation DENȲ found new fans and grew her listenership by 471%, while singer-songwriter mrld saw year-over-year growth of almost 260% in monthly streams during her second year with the program. This growing love for emerging Filipino artists has made the 2024 RADAR artists more excited about taking their music to the next level.
“I'm proud to represent my hometown, Bicol, through my music. I want people to hear my music. Being chosen for the RADAR program – not only will more people hear my music, I also get to showcase the culture of Bicol on a bigger platform,” said dwta.
“Ang gusto kong tumatak sa mga tao ay kung paano ako maging creative at mag-produce ng music na hindi pangkaraniwan. Malaking bagay sa akin maging part ng RADAR at ipagpatuloy kung ano pa ang kaya ‘kong gawin bilang isang artist,” Hev Abi added. (I want people to remember me as an artist who is unafraid to be me. The RADAR program makes me look forward to more of what I can do as an artist.)
