Rising Filipino alternative band fitterkarma is set to headline its first major solo concert as it celebrates the release of its highly anticipated debut album. Titled kung tayo'y nasa isang horror na pelikula, tiyak ako ang una mong papatayin: The Album Concert, the show is happening on September 19, 2026 at the Metropolitan Theater Manila.
Organized by fitterkarma and GNN, the concert comes two weeks after the release of the band's first full-length album and promises fans the opportunity to hear the record performed live from beginning to end.
Fans will hear the entire album live
Unlike a traditional concert setlist, fitterkarma's upcoming show is designed to present the album in its intended sequence, allowing audiences to experience the story and emotions behind each track as envisioned by the band.
Lead vocalist and guitarist Joao de Leon shared that performing the album live offers a deeper emotional connection than simply listening to the recorded version.
The concert will also feature exclusive live arrangements created specifically for the event, making it a unique experience even for fans already familiar with the songs.
Orchestra collaboration adds a cinematic touch
One of the night's highlights will be fitterkarma's collaboration with The Manila String Machine, whose live orchestral accompaniment is expected to enhance the band's signature cinematic sound.
Guitarist LORY (Mikee Mendoza) said the collaboration felt like a natural extension of their previous recording work together, adding new depth to the band's music for the album launch.
Combined with an expanded stage production, the performance aims to deliver the group's most ambitious live show to date.
From breakout band to chart-topping act
Since forming in 2023, fitterkarma has quickly emerged as one of the Philippines' most talked-about alternative bands.
The quartet, composed of Joao de Leon (vocals, guitar), Sophia Miranda (bass), Sanders Bayas (drums), and LORY (guitar) has built a distinct identity by blending Philippine folklore, theatrical visuals, and dark alternative rock influences.
Their breakthrough songs "Kalapastangan" and "Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II" both reached No. 1 on the Spotify Philippines Top 50 and the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, helping establish the band as one of the country's fastest-rising acts.
Ahead of the album release, fitterkarma also unveiled "Purgatoryo," a new single that explores a heavier, shoegaze-inspired sound while maintaining the melodic style that has defined the band's music.
