For many Filipino music fans, some albums never lose their magic. They become part of road trips, late-night sing-alongs, college memories, and countless playlists that span generations. Few records embody that kind of lasting influence quite like the Eraserheads' debut album, ULTRAELECTROMAGNETICPOP!
Now, vinyl collectors and OPM enthusiasts have another chance to own a piece of music history. Offshore Music has officially announced the repress of the ULTRAELECTROMAGNETICPOP! The 25th Anniversary Edition on premium white vinyl, giving fans who missed the original limited release a new opportunity to add this iconic album to their collection.
A Second Chance for Fans Who Missed the First Pressing
Following the overwhelming demand for the original 25th Anniversary Edition, Offshore Music has opened pre-orders until August 1, 2026 for the new white vinyl repress.
Unlike the first anniversary pressing, which was limited to just 2,500 copies, the latest release is intended to be more accessible to longtime fans and vinyl collectors. Exclusive merchandise bundles are also available during the pre-order period.
The new pressing is produced by Diggers Factory in France and mastered by acclaimed mastering engineer Bernie Grundman, whose work has helped shape some of the world's most celebrated recordings. The result promises an audiophile-quality listening experience while preserving the character and warmth that made the album a Filipino classic.
Released more than three decades ago, ULTRAELECTROMAGNETICPOP! remains one of the defining albums in Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
Its songs captured everyday Filipino experiences with honesty, wit, and unforgettable melodies that continue to resonate with listeners across different generations.
The album's enduring popularity is reflected in its remarkable achievements:
- More than 300,000 copies sold
- Certified 6x Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry (PARI)
- Considered one of the most influential debut albums in Philippine music history
Whether you're discovering the Eraserheads for the first time or revisiting songs you've loved for years, the album continues to feel remarkably relevant.
Making an Iconic Album More Accessible
According to Offshore Music General Manager Audry Dionisio, the decision to produce another pressing was driven by one simple goal: giving genuine fans a fair chance to own the album.
Reflecting on the original release, Dionisio explained:
"There were only 2,500 copies printed in the first run, and sadly because of the limited nature of the release, it prompted scalpers to resell it at ridiculous prices, which then alienated the true fans of the album."
Instead of allowing the album to remain a collector's item available only through inflated resale prices, Offshore Music chose to celebrate its 10th anniversary by bringing the record back in a more affordable format.
As Dionisio added:
"This time around, we wanted to give everybody a chance to own the album at a more affordable price. The timing couldn't be more perfect since Offshore is celebrating its tenth-year anniversary. It's our gift to the fans."
More Than a Vinyl Record
For collectors, this isn't simply another repress.
The new edition arrives on premium white vinyl, giving longtime fans something visually distinctive while maintaining the album's premium production quality.
Dionisio believes the record carries sentimental value that extends well beyond its collectible appeal.
"This time it's released on white vinyl. It's more affordable, but more importantly, it's an album you should own and pass on to your kids. Compared to the first release, this repressing is our gift to those who weren't able to grab the first one."
It's a reminder that great albums aren't just purchased. They're preserved, shared, and passed on from one generation of listeners to the next.
A Must-Have for OPM Fans and Vinyl Collectors
As vinyl continues to enjoy a global resurgence, classic Filipino albums are finding new audiences alongside longtime fans eager to experience their favorite records in analog format.
The return of ULTRAELECTROMAGNETICPOP! The 25th Anniversary Edition offers exactly that opportunity. Whether you're building an OPM vinyl collection, replacing a long-lost copy, or discovering the Eraserheads through the warmth of vinyl for the first time, this release celebrates one of Philippine music's most influential records in a format worthy of its legacy.
With pre-orders open until August 1, 2026, this latest pressing is likely to become another sought-after addition for collectors, but more importantly, it gives more fans the chance to own an album that has shaped Filipino music for over three decades.
