Symphonic APAC Hosts Spotify Masterclass for Artists

Tuesday, June 30, 2026

The Philippine independent music scene continues to thrive, thanks in part to initiatives that go beyond music releases and focus on empowering artists behind the scenes. That spirit of collaboration was on full display as Symphonic Asia Pacific recently gathered musicians, record labels, and industry professionals for two back-to-back events designed to educate, inspire, and strengthen the local creative community.

Held at Sari-Sari Bar on June 18, 2026, the Spotify Masterclass and Symphonic Social Night offered attendees an opportunity to gain valuable industry insights during the day before celebrating independent music through live performances and meaningful connections in the evening.

Spotify Masterclass Gives Artists Practical Streaming Insights

The afternoon kicked off with the Spotify Masterclass, an educational session aimed at helping independent artists and music professionals better understand today's streaming landscape.

With guidance from Spotify experts, attendees explored how to maximize Spotify for Artists, interpret audience data, improve digital marketing efforts, and discover promotional opportunities that can help grow their music careers. Rather than focusing solely on music distribution, the session highlighted how artists can make smarter, data-driven decisions to build a sustainable presence in the digital music industry.

Representatives from respected labels and music organizations such as Underdog Music Asia, FlipMusic, Fire and Ice, Diorama FM, Groovy Garden Records, Music Monks, Playback Records, and acclaimed music icon Jim Paredes were among those who participated in the learning session.

According to Guji Lorenzana, the initiative was created to help artists navigate an increasingly complex music business.

"Symphonic's goal is for participants to gain a clearer understanding of how to build sustainable careers, use available tools and platforms more effectively, and make informed decisions that support their long-term growth in the industry."

He noted that while technology has made music distribution more accessible than ever, artists are now expected to balance marketing, branding, analytics, audience engagement, and business strategy alongside their creative work.

"Initiatives like the Symphonic x Spotify Masterclass help bridge the gap between access and understanding. By providing direct access to industry expertise, current best practices, and real-world experiences, these programs equip creators and professionals with the knowledge they need to make confident, strategic decisions. More importantly, they foster community."

Symphonic Social Night Celebrates Independent Music

After an afternoon of learning, the focus shifted from education to celebration during Symphonic Social Night.

Designed as a relaxed networking event, the evening encouraged artists, label representatives, producers, and creative professionals to continue conversations, exchange ideas, and explore future collaborations in a welcoming environment.

The event also featured a live music showcase highlighting several artists from Symphonic Distribution's growing roster across the Asia-Pacific region.

A Night Filled With Memorable Live Performances

Guests were treated to an energetic lineup that reflected the diversity of today's independent music scene.

Fresh from releasing their debut album, VVINK delivered an engaging performance featuring polished choreography and infectious pop anthems.

Singer-songwriters Chezka and Novocrane showcased their unique musical styles, while Indonesian artist Jordan Susanto impressed the audience with soulful performances.

The evening also featured original songs from Symphonic artist Fiona, hard-hitting rap performances from P4blo, and a nostalgic yet refreshing set from pop-punk band Letter Day Story, who blended fan favorites with new material.

To close the celebration, Guji Lorenzana stepped behind the DJ booth for a special set that kept the energy high until the very end.

Building a Stronger Independent Music Community

For Symphonic Asia Pacific, both events shared one common objective: creating meaningful opportunities for artists to learn from one another while building lasting professional relationships.

Guji explained that community remains one of the most valuable resources for independent musicians.

"We wanted to create a space where conversations continue, collaborations can begin, and everyone can come together to celebrate the vibrant and diverse music culture emerging from the region."

Looking ahead, he shared that Symphonic plans to continue investing in programs that support artists across Asia-Pacific.

"As Symphonic continues to expand across APAC, our goal is to empower the independent music community by creating more opportunities for artists and industry professionals to connect, learn, and grow together. Many of us at Symphonic are artists ourselves, so we understand firsthand how important community, education, and access to meaningful industry relationships can be in building a sustainable career. The stronger our community becomes, the stronger the future of independent music in the region will be."

With the music industry becoming increasingly digital and interconnected, initiatives like the Spotify Masterclass and Symphonic Social Night demonstrate that success isn't just about streaming numbers. Education, collaboration, and a supportive creative community continue to play a vital role in helping independent artists build lasting careers, making gatherings like these valuable stepping stones for the next generation of musicians across the Asia-Pacific region.
