The Itchyworms Live in Nagoya 2025

Tuesday, September 23, 2025

Filipino music fans in Japan have something big to look forward to this October! The award-winning pop-rock band The Itchyworms is set to perform in Nagoya for the very first time as part of their Akin Ka Na Lang tour. The highly anticipated show will take place at Live House Circus on October 5, 2025, marking another milestone in the band’s journey of bringing OPM (Original Pilipino Music) to international stages.

A First-Ever Nagoya Stop for the Band

Known for their catchy anthems and fun live performances, The Itchyworms are no strangers to Japan. They’ve already rocked audiences in Tokyo and Saitama earlier this year, and music lovers may remember their standout moments at the Tokyo Beyond Festival in 2022 and the Kansai Music Festival in 2023.

But for the Nagoya leg, excitement is running especially high—it’s their debut in the city, which is home to one of the largest Filipino communities in Japan.

Frontman Jugs Jugueta shared his excitement, saying that the band is eager to meet their kababayans in Nagoya and give them a show that feels like “taking them back to the Philippines, even if just for a few hours.”

A Fresh Experience for Band and Fans

Drummer and co-vocalist Jazz Nicolas also expressed enthusiasm, pointing out that the Nagoya stop will be a fresh experience for them. He noted how every tour in Japan is special since the band gets to connect not only with Filipinos abroad but also with Japanese fans who’ve grown to love OPM.

The group also hinted at surprises for this concert, promising a performance tailored to the vibe of the Nagoya crowd.

A New Chapter with a New Band Member

Adding even more excitement to this leg of the tour is the introduction of the band’s newest member, Michael Vargas. His multi-instrumental talents—spanning guitar, keyboards, and even violin—bring a new energy and dynamic to the group’s live performances. Fans can definitely expect something fresh when they hit the stage.

More Than Just Music

For The Itchyworms, touring abroad is not just about playing music—it’s about culture, food, and yes, the challenge of packing pasalubong. Jugs joked that one of the hardest parts of traveling is fitting all the gifts in their luggage without going over baggage allowance, something many Pinoys abroad can relate to!

The Nagoya stop will be the band’s fourth international performance of 2025, following successful shows in Japan (Tokyo), the UK, and Indonesia (Bali) earlier this year.
