Valenzuela LGU goes cashless, powered by UnionBank

The City Government of Valenzuela has recently partnered with Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) to enable its constituents to apply for business permits and pay for taxes and other fees online.

With this partnership, business-owners can now pay for their permits through UnionBank and complete the whole business permit application process from the comfort of their homes.

In addition, UnionBank account holders can pay for their business taxes. Non-account holders, on the other hand, can pay for their taxes online using the payment gateway. Taxpayers are also given the option to pay their obligations using their VISA/Mastercard credit card or debit bank accounts.

Through this digital solution, the constituents of Valenzuela City can avoid long lines and possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Transacting with the city government can now be as simple as shopping at your favorite online marketplace.

“We recognize the need for a progressive payment option for city governments especially in this time. We are very happy to partner with the City of Valenzuela to provide its constituents a contactless means of paying their obligations to the city,” said Manuel G. Santiago, Jr., Chief Mass Market and Financial Inclusion Executive at UnionBank.

“We hope to partner with more LGUs to enable more Filipinos to transact with the government more conveniently,” added Santiago.
